Whilst much of the world has been at a stand still, things haven't slowed down in our herb field here at Organic Herb Trading. The last few months have been a hive of activity for Herb Field Manager, Sarah Weston. Read on to learn more.

It's December and the herb field is looking a bit bare and naked. We’ve had some lovely cold frosty sunny mornings and a dry spell which has been very welcome as things were getting a bit soggy. Read on to hear more from the Herb field manager Sarah.

It has been another bountiful season in the herb field and we’ve had a job keeping up with the harvesting - the herb dryer has been going constantly since the end of June! Things are now slowing down and there is a definite feel of autumn in the air. The hawthorn berries and elder berries have been abundant; could this be a sign of a cold winter ahead? The season has well and truly started for our Herb Field Manager Sarah. The cutting back, pruning and last of the root harvesting has been done and new shoots are coming through. The first of our leafy fresh orders has been sent out, and Sianne and Rach our fantastic seasonal workers are back weeding, dividing and sowing. Read more from Sarah below.

What a year it has been in the herb field - the weather has really pushed us to our limits! Last winter was never ending, spring was wet and cold, and nothing was growing or germinating - making us about 6 weeks behind in the field. But then it was all change, and not only did everything catch up, some plants were ready for harvest a month early! More from our Herb Field Manager Sarah below.
